What you should know
Emergency assistance is an unemployment insurance benefit for people whose entitlement to unemployment benefit has been used up and who are in financial need. It must be applied for separately at the AMS.
Since July 2018, partners' income is no longer taken into account for emergency assistance. Emergency assistance is granted for a specific period at a time and must then be applied for again.
