What you should know
Care allowance supports people who need care and assistance permanently – expected to be for at least six months. There are seven levels; level 1 applies from an average care need of more than 65 hours per month.
After the application, an assessment is carried out by a doctor or a qualified nurse. Good preparation is crucial: people who do not fully describe how much help they actually need are often placed in too low a level.

Where do I apply for care allowance?
Usually the body that pays your pension is responsible – in most cases the PVA. People who do not receive a pension usually also apply to the PVA. We clarify this together.
My care needs have increased – what can I do?
You can apply for an increase at any time if your care needs have changed significantly. We help with the application and the preparation.
What is a care diary?
A record of which activities you need help with and how long they take. It helps enormously during the assessment – we provide you with a template.
