What you should know
In Vienna, the benefit is called “Wiener Mindestsicherung” and is applied for at the MA 40 social centres. In Lower Austria it is called “Sozialhilfe”, and the district authority (Bezirkshauptmannschaft) is responsible – for Baden, that is the BH Baden.
The application requires a lot of proof: of income, assets, housing costs and job searching. Missing documents are the most common reason for long waiting times.

The documents you need
